Smart Plugs and Switches

See which platforms each smart plug works with, how it connects, and its sourced power rating.

Check the load and platform

A smart plug must support the appliance's electrical load and the household's preferred platform. Connection method, outlet size, and optional monitoring features matter more than a long list of app routines.

Electrical rating

Compare the stated current and wattage limits with the appliance label. Motors and heaters can have stricter requirements than lamps or small electronics.

Platform and network

Confirm support for the chosen voice assistant or smart home platform, plus any Matter, hub, or Wi-Fi requirement. Some plugs support only 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi.

Outlet fit and features

Check whether the plug blocks the second wall outlet. Treat energy monitoring, schedules, and away modes as model-specific features rather than brand-wide defaults.
