Connector ends
Confirm whether the cable is USB-C to USB-C, USB-C to Lightning, or another combination. Similar-looking connectors are not interchangeable.
Charging power
Check the stated wattage or current and whether a higher-power cable identifies an E-marker. The charger and device must also support the requested output.
Data, video, and length
Charging support does not guarantee fast data or display output. Verify the stated data rate and video support, then choose a length that fits without unnecessary slack.
