What matters in a soundbar

Choose the setup before chasing a long feature list. A single bar keeps a small room simple. A separate subwoofer takes more space but can add bass that the bar cannot produce on its own.

Channels and subwoofers

Channel labels describe the speaker layout. Check whether a subwoofer is built in, included, or sold separately.

TV connections

HDMI eARC or ARC is usually the cleanest setup, but optical and Bluetooth can cover older TVs and wireless playback.

Cabinet size

Measure the space below the TV and confirm that the bar will not block the screen or remote sensor.
